A limited edition colour offset lithograph after a watercolour original by Paul Georgiou, depicting a bustling Edwardian-era street scene in Thornton, West Yorkshire. The composition shows a detailed view of a stone-paved street with horse-drawn carriages, figures in period dress, and several shop fronts. Notable shop signs include J. Hepworth and Sons, Ratcliffes Tobacconists & Confectioners, Atkinsons, and Walkers. A prominent sign for the Thornton Commercial Hotel is visible on the right. The print is numbered 349 / 500 in pencil in the lower left margin. In the lower right plate, there is a printed signature reading Paul Georgiou 1983. Directly below in the lower right margin is a handwritten pencil signature reading Paul Georgiou. The piece is housed in a glazed dark wood frame with a gilt inner slip and a dark green mount. A white adhesive sticker with the numeral 2 and an orange adhesive sticker reading 139 are attached to the glass.


Condition report:

The print appears to be in good condition with no evidence of foxing, toning, or moisture damage visible under the glass. The frame is structurally sound with minor surface scuffs and wear consistent with age. No visible tears or creases to the paper are apparent through the glazing.
