This collection comprises a variety of tankards and mugs of differing materials and styles. The group includes a black-glazed ceramic tankard featuring a distinctive turned handle and a gilt transfer-printed image of a three-masted sailing ship with the text REVENGE above it. Also present are several pewter tankards, including one with a flared rim and a simple loop handle with a thumb rest, and another of a plain, cylindrical form. The metal displays a dull, grey aged patina throughout. The collection further includes a dark, leather-clad vessel fashioned in the style of a traditional English blackjack, featuring a stitched handle and a heavily patinated surface. Partially visible are other items, including a white ceramic mug base with a floral transfer-printed border and a cream-coloured ceramic vessel. Several items bear small adhesive labels with handwritten numbers including 47, 14, and 46. No manufacturer backstamps or pewter touchmarks are clearly visible in the provided image.
Condition report:
The items are in an uncleaned, as-found condition with a significant accumulation of surface dust and grime across all pieces. The pewter items show characteristic oxidation and surface wear. The leather-clad example has a very dark, aged appearance with surface scuffing and wear consistent with age and material.
