Lot 48: A Mid-20th Century Glazed Porcelain Figurine of a Lady in the Style of Royal Doulton
This glazed porcelain figurine is designed in the style of mid-20th-century English ceramic production, bearing a strong resemblance to the crinoline lady models produced by Royal Doulton. The polychrome decorated figure depicts a young woman in a wide, flowing skirt of a pale pink or cream colour. The off-the-shoulder bodice features blue-trimmed straps. She is shown holding a small white bonnet or sun hat decorated with blue ribbons and yellow floral accents. The figure has brown hair and delicately painted facial features. Two adhesive stickers are present on the front of the dress: a white sticker printed with the number 14 and an orange sticker handwritten with the number 48.
