A fireplace fender of late Victorian or Edwardian design. The piece comprises a rectangular cast metal base, likely iron with a dark patinated finish, featuring a continuous relief pattern of repeating foliate motifs. A horizontal brass gallery rail is mounted above the base, supported by three upright standards topped with polished ball finials. At either end, the fender features integrated brass tool rests, each supported by two decorative cast metal scroll-form arms. The assembly incorporates cast metal components with brass tubing. A small white adhesive label with the numbers 3 3 is affixed to the right side of the base, and an orange circular sticker with the handwritten number 456 is attached to the central brass rail. No manufacturer marks or stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces.
