A late Victorian or Edwardian solid oak two-tier occasional table in the Jacobean Revival style. The rectangular top is designed with canted corners and a plain edge. The table is supported on four substantial legs featuring baluster-turned upper sections and tapered, faceted lower sections. A lower shelf tier is integrated into the frame, bordered on three sides by a decorative bobbin-turned spindle gallery. The shelf joins the legs via square blocks, each decorated with a carved geometric rosette. The piece is supported by small turned bun feet. No visible maker’s marks or stamps are present. A small orange adhesive lot sticker is present on the front edge of the top.
Condition report:
Fair to good overall condition with wear commensurate with age. Surface scratches, scuffs, and minor indentations are present across the top and shelf surfaces. The wood finish appears somewhat dry and would benefit from professional waxing. General dust and surface grime are noted from storage. There is slight joint separation at one corner of the lower spindle gallery.
