Lot 433: A 20th-century cast stone garden sculpture of the Three Graces
A weathered cast stone garden sculpture depicting the Three Graces in a classical, intertwined embrace. The figures are portrayed with flowing drapery and are set upon an integral, roughly-hewn base. The surface of the stone shows significant weathering from outdoor exposure. An orange auction label with the handwritten number 133 is affixed to the side of the base, alongside a smaller white sticker bearing the number 23. No maker’s marks or artist signatures are present on the piece.
Condition report:
The sculpture is in weathered condition consistent with outdoor exposure. There is extensive lichen and moss growth across the surface, overall pitting to the cast stone, and minor chipping to the extremities.
