Lot 42: A Vintage Mechanical Rotary Hearth Bellows of Wooden and Metal Construction
A mechanical rotary hearth bellows featuring a large spoked wooden wheel mounted on a shaped base. The wheel is designed to drive an internal fan housed within a cylindrical drum, which is finished with decorative metal studs. The wooden base features a scalloped edge and terminates in a tapered metal nozzle. The piece is constructed from dark-stained wood with brass or copper-toned metal components. A small, illegible white label is affixed to the upper surface of the fan housing. No manufacturer marks are visible.
Condition report:
The item is in used condition with surface dust and light wear consistent with age. There is visible oxidation and patina to the metal elements. Minor scuffs and surface abrasions are present on the wooden components. The internal mechanism has not been tested for operational functionality.
