Lot 807: Two Quartz Wristwatches by Ravel and Casio
Two quartz wristwatches comprising one silver-tone example by Ravel and one gold-tone example by Casio. The Ravel wristwatch features a round silver-tone base metal case with a white dial. The dial is printed with large black Arabic numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, and is marked Ravel and Quartz, with Japan Movt printed at the bottom edge. It is fitted with black hour and minute hands and a red sweep seconds hand. The watch is mounted on a silver-tone expanding metal bracelet. The Casio wristwatch features a rectangular gold-tone base metal case with a cream-coloured dial. The dial features applied gold-tone baton hour markers and is marked Casio and Quartz. The lower edge of the dial is inscribed with the code 901A1-115 Japan A. It has gold-tone hour and minute hands and is fitted with a gold-tone textured expanding metal bracelet with a geometric diamond pattern.
Condition report:
Both watches show visible signs of wear and surface scratches to the cases, crystals, and bracelets consistent with age and use. There is significant wear to the gold plating on the Casio example. The functionality of the quartz movements is untested.
