Lot 4: An Assortment of Vintage Amber and Marigold Iridescent Glassware
A collection of eleven pieces of vintage decorative glassware in varying amber and marigold iridescent tones. The lot features a large footed amber glass pitcher with an applied handle; a marigold iridescent carnival glass bowl with a ruffled rim and an embossed windmill landscape to the interior; a central amber glass decanter with a faceted stopper and six matching shot glasses, each featuring white enamelled woodland scenes in the Mary Gregory style; a heavy panelled dark amber glass tankard; and two pressed amber glass dishes, comprising a large oval bowl and a circular dish with a deeply crimped rim and starburst centre. The items are of pressed and blown glass construction. The iridescent pieces are consistent with the style of mid-20th-century manufacturers such as Indiana Glass or Fenton. No permanent manufacturer’s marks were detected, though several pieces bear adhesive lot tags bearing the numbers 4 and 8.
Condition report:
The glassware is in good vintage condition with no significant chips, cracks, or repairs visible. The white enamel decoration on the decanter set is well-preserved. Minor surface wear consistent with age may be present on the base of the larger items.
