Two silver-toned metal stamp boxes of the Edwardian period. The first item is a rectangular display case featuring two glazed apertures containing a pair of UK King Edward VII definitive stamps, comprising a 1/2d green and a 1d red. The stamps are unused examples of the De La Rue printings, corresponding to Stanley Gibbons SG 215-218 and SG 219-220 respectively. The second item is a hinged metal stamp box with an engine-turned textured finish and a central unengraved oval cartouche. Both items are constructed from silver-toned metal, though no hallmarks are visible.
Condition report:
The stamps appear in unused condition with no visible cancellations or foxing. Centring is typical for the issue. The metal cases exhibit surface patination and minor wear consistent with age and use. The glazed apertures remain intact.
