A large terracotta vessel of ovoid form, commonly referred to as an olive or oil jar. The vessel features a wide, heavily rolled rim and two loop handles positioned at the shoulder, with the body tapering towards a flat base. The exterior is finished in natural terracotta and displays faint, illegible dark marks or characters on the mid-section. The style is consistent with Mediterranean garden pottery from regions such as Turkey or Italy.
Condition report:
The jar exhibits significant weathering and surface accretion throughout, including patches of moss and mineral deposits consistent with outdoor use. There are visible chips and abrasions to the rolled rim and the exterior body. An adhesive sticker is present on the rim.
