Lot 497: A weathered cast stone square panelled garden pedestal
A 20th-century garden pedestal of rectangular upright form, constructed from cast stone. The piece features a flat square top designed to support statuary or planters, above a central shaft with recessed rectangular panels on all four sides. It terminates in a stepped, square-profile base. The construction is characteristic of reconstituted stone techniques used in the mid-to-late 20th century. The design is similar to the Estate Pedestal produced by Campania International, though no manufacturer marks are present.
Condition report:
The item is in a weathered condition consistent with outdoor exposure. There is established lichen and moss growth across the surfaces. Minor chips and abrasions are visible to the edges and corners of the base and top. The structural integrity is sound with no major cracks or fractures observed.
