Lot 496: A Pair of Weathered Cast Stone Square Garden Planters in the Neoclassical Style
A pair of garden planters of square tapering form, manufactured from cast composition stone. Each planter features recessed rectangular panels to the sides, a flared moulded rim, and a matching flared stepped base. The design is characteristic of traditional Neoclassical garden ornaments and pedestals. No maker marks or stamps are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces.
Condition report:
Both planters exhibit heavy weathering consistent with long-term outdoor use. There is extensive lichen and moss growth across the surfaces. Small chips and nibbles are present on the corners and edges of the rims and bases.
