Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A Chinese hardwood pedestal or plant stand, likely dating from the late Qing dynasty or early Republic period. The piece is constructed from a dense-grained hardwood with a reddish-brown finish, consistent with rosewood or hongmu. It features a square inset top panel within a moulded frame. The four sides are decorated with deep, pierced aprons carved with stylised scrolling ruyi head motifs. The stand is supported by four tall, slender legs of rounded section, which are joined near the base by a continuous four-sided humped stretcher. No maker marks or reign marks are present. Two modern adhesive labels are attached to the surface.

Condition report:

The stand is in good structural condition. There is visible surface wear, including light scratching and minor scuffs to the finish on the top panel and along the edges, commensurate with age and use. Adhesive residue or stickers are present.
