Lot 36:
A collection of decorative objects comprising several hand-painted eggs, featuring dense floral and scrollwork motifs in various colours including blue, cream, and red, in the style of Kashmiri papier-mâché. The group also includes polished stone eggs with mottled green and brown surfaces, and a single pale, hollowed shell-form object. Accompanying these is a circular lidded box, the top decorated with iridescent mother-of-pearl inlay in a radiating pattern. Also present is a small white-metal dish with a scalloped, foliate-moulded border and a dark, bulbous vessel with a wide aperture, featuring a matte finish and variegated brown tones, possibly turned wood or ceramic. The items bear orange and white auction lot labels with the numbers 36 and 3. No maker marks or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces.
The collection is in generally good condition with surface wear consistent with age and use. Minor scuffs and light paint loss are visible on the decorated eggs. The stone eggs exhibit natural inclusions and light surface abrasions. The metal dish shows minor tarnishing and surface scratches. The mother-of-pearl box and dark vessel show light surface wear.
