A Rococo Revival table lamp featuring a central white porcelain figure of a reclining putto or cherub. The figure is detailed with hand-painted facial features and blue-accented drapery. The porcelain element is set within a cast gilt-metal frame of scrolling acanthus leaves, supported by a shaped and pierced base decorated with rocaille and shell motifs. The lamp is fitted with a standard bayonet-style light socket. It has been modernly rewired with a gold-coloured three-core flex and bears a green Portable Appliance Testing sticker marked PASSED SAFE. The cable terminates in bare wires and lacks a plug. No maker marks, factory stamps, or incised signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces. The item is in the Rococo style, characteristic of Continental manufacturers from the 19th or early 20th centuries.
Condition report:
The lamp is in good overall condition. There is expected surface wear and tarnish to the gilt-metal surfaces, including some areas of verdigris oxidation on the base. The porcelain figure appears intact with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. The electrical wiring is modern, though the item is sold as a decorative object and should be tested by a qualified electrician before use.
