Lot 202: A Collection of Vintage Glassware Ceramics and Decorative Items including a Ceramic Horse and Poison Bottle
A collection of decorative items and collectibles comprising ceramics glassware and hardware. The group includes a large ceramic figure of a horse with a bay-coloured coat and braided mane rendered in a naturalistic style. Glassware features a rectangular green glass poison bottle with embossed lettering NOT TO BE TAKEN a cylindrical green glass bottle and several small amber and clear glass vessels. The lot contains a rectangular cut-glass tray with starburst and geometric motifs alongside amber-coloured pressed glass items including a candlestick holder and a small dish. Ceramic pieces include a yellow promotional dish marked Grand Marnier LIQUEUR a small salt-glazed stoneware jar a miniature blue-and-white pitcher with floral decoration and a small jug with a metallic copper-toned lustre glaze. Also included is a group of porcelain door knobs decorated with floral motifs and fitted with brass-toned metal hardware.
Condition report:
The items are in generally used condition with age-related wear consistent with a mixed auction lot. Visible surface scratches and minor inclusions are present on the glassware. The ceramic pieces show some surface wear and potential crazing to the glazes. The metal components of the door knobs exhibit tarnish and oxidation.
