An assortment of decorative metalware items, primarily brass, typical of 20th-century artisan production often associated with India or the Middle East. The collection includes a tall brass vase featuring a widely flared rim and a pedestal foot, decorated with hand-incised geometric and hatched bands around the neck and body. Also included is a shallow brass dish with a wide, plain rim and a chased central design depicting a peacock amongst scrolling botanical motifs. A miniature brass jug is present, featuring a trilobed wavy rim, bulbous body, and a scrolled handle on a flared pedestal foot. The final item is a small pedestal chalice or goblet made from silver-plated brass or white metal, featuring an undecorated cup on a stepped pedestal base. Small, illegible stamped marks are located on the outer edge of the foot rim.
Condition report:
The items show varied condition consistent with age and use. Significant surface patina, oxidation spotting, and tarnish are present on the brass components. The silver-plated chalice exhibits heavy wear to the plating, exposing the base metal. Surface scratches and adhesive residue from previous labels are visible across the group.
