Lot 506: An Assortment of Personal Accessories and Ephemera including a Royal British Legion Lapel Badge
This lot comprises an assortment of personal effects and printed ephemera. The primary item is a circular enamel lapel badge for The Royal British Legion. The badge features a blue enamel border with gold-toned lettering and a central lion mask in relief, surmounted by a crown. Also included is a rectangular gold-toned tie slide with a diagonal engine-turned textured finish. There is a small gold-toned crescent-shaped metal component. Accompanying these items is a printed descriptive card titled New Zealand’s Unique Tiki, which provides historical context on Maori ornaments; please note the tiki ornament itself is not present. The lot also contains a length of blue cord attached to a safety pin. All items are housed in a clear plastic bag with lot markers 20 and S06.
Condition report:
The items are in used condition, showing signs of wear consistent with age. The enamel on the badge remains intact with some light surface marks. The tie slide displays minor scratches and tarnishing. The printed card is slightly discoloured and creased.
