Lot 507: A Collection of Vintage Paper Mate and Parker Writing Instruments
This collection features writing instruments from the manufacturers Paper Mate and Parker. The assortment includes a Paper Mate gold-tone ballpoint pen housed in its original black presentation box with silver lettering and a signature double-dot clip. Also included is a three-piece Parker set in a white presentation box decorated with the Parker halo pattern. This set comprises a fountain pen with a hooded nib, a mechanical pencil with a textured black barrel, and a slim secondary writing instrument, all featuring the iconic Parker arrow clips. The cap band of the central pencil is incised with the mark PARKER. Completing the collection is an individual slim ballpoint pen in a grey fabric sleeve, featuring a blue jewel-set clip. The items are constructed from gold-tone and silver-tone metals and black resin.
Condition report:
The collection shows various signs of vintage wear. The writing instruments exhibit surface scratches and brassing to the metal components. The central mechanical pencil in the Parker set has significant surface degradation and texture loss. The Paper Mate box shows light shelf wear and retains an orange price sticker. The Parker presentation box is in poor condition with visible staining and blue ink scribbles to the interior lid. All items are sold as collector pieces; internal mechanisms, ink flow, and filling systems have not been tested.
