Lot 148: A Collection of Vintage British Weekly Comics including The Hotspur Issue No. 422
An assortment of vintage British boys weekly comics and ephemera, featuring a copy of The Hotspur, issue number 422, dated 18th November 1967. Published by D.C. Thomson and Co. Ltd. of Dundee, this issue features a cover price of 5d and the lead story The Charge of the Sea Horses. The front cover is illustrated with a full-page colour scene depicting figures riding large sea creatures. The lot includes various other comics visible in the storage container, which is a Morphy Richards kettle box. The comics are printed on standard newsprint of the period.

The items are in used, reading condition. The Hotspur issue shows pronounced tanning and yellowing to the newsprint pages due to age. The front cover has significant curling and folding to the top right corner, with general shelf wear and minor abrasions to the edges. The spine shows visible creasing and stress marks.
