A two-piece birdbath constructed from reconstituted cast stone. The item comprises a shallow circular basin with a gadrooned or fluted decorative rim, supported by a pedestal base. The pedestal is modelled in the faux bois style, featuring a textured surface resembling tree bark with a single protruding knot. The lower section of the pedestal flares into a foliate-moulded base. This style of garden ornament is characteristic of mid-20th century British garden design. No maker marks, stamps, or inscriptions are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The birdbath is in a weathered condition consistent with prolonged outdoor use. Significant lichen and moss growth are present across the basin and the lower portion of the pedestal. There is visible chipping and erosion to one side of the base. General surface pitting and wear are evident throughout the structure.
