A late 20th-century reproduction open-fronted bookcase or display unit designed in the Georgian style. The piece is constructed from oak and oak-veneered wood with a dark-stained finish. It features a shaped, scalloped top gallery and a corresponding scalloped lower apron. The main body is divided into four fixed vertical compartments. The base of the right-hand section is fitted with two brass-style drop handles, suggesting a drawer or concealed compartment. The unit is unglazed and of single-piece, non-sectional construction. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on the piece.
