Lot 240: A White Glazed Porcelain Figurine of a Bearded Man in Historical Costume
A white glazed porcelain figure depicting a bearded male in historical or theatrical attire, possibly representing a biblical figure or an actor. The figure is modelled standing, wearing a turban-style headpiece and a voluminous, heavily draped cloak with patterned borders over a long tunic and breeches. The hands are clasped at the waist, holding a small pouch. The figure is set upon an integral stepped white porcelain base, which is further mounted on a circular black-turned wooden or composite plinth. Faint incised letters E and C are present on the side of the porcelain base. The item bears an orange adhesive sticker with the handwritten number 240 on the porcelain base and a small white printed sticker with the number 26 on the black plinth.
Condition report:
The figure is in generally good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the porcelain. There is minor surface dust and light scuffing to the black plinth base.
