Lot 220a: A Set of Six Hand-Woven Coiled Decorative Trays
A set of six circular, shallow trays or mats featuring a coiled basketry construction. These items are crafted from a combination of natural and dyed plant fibres. The trays display a vibrant concentric design with integrated geometric blocks in fuchsia pink, emerald green, and golden yellow on a natural cream ground. While five of the trays are finished with fuchsia pink outer rims, one tray in the stack is finished with a deep indigo purple outer coil. The weaving is tightly executed, creating a firm and durable structure. A small orange rectangular adhesive label bearing the handwritten characters 220A in black ink is affixed to the centre of the uppermost tray.
Diameter: Approximately 25cm to 30cm each.
Condition report:
The set is in good condition, showing minimal signs of use-wear. The dyed colours remain bright and saturated throughout. There are no visible signs of structural failure, broken coils, or significant fraying to the rims or bases. Minor surface dust and small areas of adhesive residue from labels are present.
