Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A mid-20th-century cased set of flatware and cutlery manufactured by Priestley and Moore Ltd of Sheffield, England. The set includes spoons and forks produced in electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) and knives featuring stainless steel blades with cream-coloured synthetic ivorine handles. The spoons and forks are decorated with a traditional relief-moulded foliate and scroll pattern in the Kings style. The set is presented in its original blue patterned presentation case, lined with blue velvet and white satin. The set appears to be an incomplete or partial service.

Transcription of Marks:
The interior case label is gold-stamped: PRIESTLEY & MOORE LTD / [Logo: shield with animal motif above P & M] / SHEFFIELD – ENGLAND.
The knife blades are etched: [Logo: arm holding a hammer above VULCAN] / PRIESTLEY & MOORE LTD / SHEFFIELD – ENGLAND / STAINLESS.

Condition report:

The silver-plated items show significant surface tarnishing throughout, though the plating appears largely intact. The stainless steel blades exhibit minor surface scratches consistent with use. The ivorine handles are in good condition without visible cracking, showing only minor age-related discolouration. The presentation case shows scuffing and wear to the exterior corners and edges, with the interior lining showing typical indentations from the stored items. An orange adhesive tag is present on one spoon and original tissue paper is scattered within the case.
