A Chinese-made jointed plush teddy bear from the Hickory product line by Gund. The bear is constructed from textured, curly synthetic plush fur in a light brown tone, featuring a swivelling head and jointed arms and legs. The paws and feet are finished with light brown felted fabric pads. The facial features include dark plastic eyes and a nose composed of horizontal embroidered brown thread. The item retains a black fabric label sewn into the rear seam with white printed text reading HICKORY in large capitals, followed by GUND INC. EDISON N.J. and GUND UK LTD SOUTHAMPTON SO15 2TL. The label further includes the text MADE IN CHINA and a CE mark.
Condition report:
The synthetic plush fur exhibits general matting and signs of handling, most notably around the muzzle and paws (photo 1). The felted foot pads show light surface pilling and wear to the fabric nap (photo 1). The embroidered nose and plastic eyes remain securely attached and intact. The manufacturer\'s fabric tag shows minor fraying at the edges but the printed text remains clearly legible (photo 2).
