A circular decorative art glass bowl or charger featuring an intricate, multi-layered mandala design. The vessel is constructed from clear glass with relief decoration applied to the underside and finished in a vibrant polychrome palette. The central medallion is a deep red starburst motif, surrounded by a broad band of amber and gold-toned scrollwork and geometric patterns. The outermost section consists of sixteen petal-like points in a translucent turquoise blue, each containing detailed paisley-style and foliate textures. The application of metallic and coloured finishes to the textured underside creates a shimmering, reflective effect when viewed through the smooth interior surface.
Two small adhesive paper labels are present on the central interior surface. The first is a rectangular white label printed with the numbers 5 5. The second is a rectangular orange label with the number 68 handwritten or printed in black. These appear to be inventory or pricing stickers and do not denote a maker. While the design is characteristic of contemporary Turkish glass production, no maker’s name or brand is readable on the object.
Condition report:
The bowl is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the scalloped edges or the main body (photo 1). The surface decoration appears intact with no significant loss or peeling to the coloured and metallic finishes. A minor surface abrasion or manufacturing bubble is visible near the central red medallion, adjacent to the white label (photo 1).
