A collection of three cast brass table objects. The first item is a figural hand bell depicting a Welsh lady in traditional dress. The figure is cast with a tall chimney hat, a shawl, and a patterned apron, featuring hand-chased details to the hair and clothing. The second item is a miniature figurine of a walking elephant with its trunk raised, featuring a textured surface to simulate hide. The third item is a circular footed trivet with a pierced scroll and foliate design, raised on three cylindrical feet. The underside of the trivet, near one foot, bears two small incised characters, the first being the letter B and the second being the letter D. The items feature varying surface finishes, ranging from a dark aged patina on the figures to a brighter polished finish on the trivet.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. The Welsh lady bell shows a dark aged patina with surface oxidation present in the recessed areas of the casting (photo 1). The elephant figurine exhibits significant green verdigris and oxidation within the textured recesses of the body (photo 1). The circular trivet shows light surface scratches and minor wear to the polished top surface consistent with functional use (photo 1).
