A vintage hunter case pocket watch featuring a gold-coloured engine-turned case. The front cover displays a central circular cartouche with scrollwork borders, which remains vacant. The white enamel dial is printed in black with Roman numeral hour markers and a railroad-style outer minute track. A sub-dial for seconds is located at the 6 o’clock position. The dial bears a printed black serifed inscription at the centre reading A. W. W. CO. WALTHAM MASS. The watch is fitted with blued steel spade hands and a subsidiary seconds hand. The case includes a coin-edge texture around the circumference and is topped with a fluted crown and a circular bow. The interior of the front cover shows a polished, reflective finish. The movement is accessed via a hinged rear cover and dust cover, which were not opened for inspection.
Condition report:
The enamel dial shows a significant area of damage near the 2 o\'clock position, including a large chip with loss of enamel and multiple radiating hairline cracks extending towards the centre and the 3 o\'clock marker (photo 1). The blued finish on the hands appears well-preserved. The case exhibits light surface scratches and minor softening to the engine-turned pattern consistent with handling and age (photo 2). The hinge for the front cover appears functional, holding the cover open at approximately a 90-degree angle (photo 1). The crystal appears clear with only minor surface scuffs. The mechanical working order is untested.
