A single-edged fixed-blade hatchet or hand axe featuring a full tang construction. The head and tang are forged from pattern-welded steel, displaying a visible wavy grain throughout the metal surfaces. The handle is fitted with two contoured scales of a brown textured composite material, possibly micarta or a densified wood laminate, secured to the tang by three silver-toned pins. The handle design incorporates a large circular knuckle guard. The blade face bears a small square adhesive label printed with the number 10. No maker’s marks, stamps, or country-of-origin markings are visible on the metal or handle surfaces. The axe is accompanied by a brown leather sheath featuring a snap-fastener retaining strap and decorative perimeter stitching.
Condition report:
The axe appears to be in very good, unused condition. The factory-ground edge is clean without significant sharpening wear or nicks. A small spot of surface residue or light oxidation is visible on the lower-left portion of the blade face (photo 1). The handle scales are secure with no visible cracks or lifting. The leather sheath shows no signs of heavy wear, with stitching and fastener intact.
