Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

An assortment of decorative and utilitarian glassware featuring various methods of ornamentation including deep geometric cutting and surface etching. The collection includes a mallet-shaped decanter with a faceted stopper, featuring a band of diamond-cut decoration above a fluted base. A tall cylindrical vase is decorated with wheel-etched motifs depicting birds and foliage. A stemmed comport or cake stand displays a shallow bowl with a frosted floral petal design and wheel-cut star patterns to the underside.

The lot also contains a shallow oval fruit bowl with a scalloped rim, featuring a frosted acid-etched design of a pear and a bunch of grapes to the well. Further items include a rectangular tray with a diamond-cut pattern and serrated rim, an oval relish dish with star-cut motifs, a diamond-cut open bowl, and two faceted tumblers or small vases with geometric diamond patterns. A round orange adhesive label marked with the number 5 is present on the comport and one tumbler. Another orange label is visible on the interior of the oval bowl. No maker’s marks, signatures, or acid-etched backstamps are visible on the surfaces of these items.

Condition report:

The glassware generally appears clear. Visible surface scratches consistent with age and use are present throughout the collection (photo 1). The serrated rims of the trays and bowls show some minor wear, and the sharp edges of the geometric cutting should be inspected for small fleabite chips common to this type of glassware. The decanter stopper appears intact with no visible major fractures. No significant internal clouding or glass sickness is observed.
