Lot 412: Two Art Nouveau Style Clear and Black Glass Vases
A pair of contemporary clear glass vases comprising one rectangular-profile vessel and one cylindrical bud vase. Each item features applied black glass-paste decoration in a stylized Art Nouveau-inspired motif of undulating vines and leaf forms. The rectangular vase is constructed with a square profile and slightly flared rim, featuring linear black trailing that forms abstract leaves and a solid black border at the rim and vertical corners. The glass surface on this piece exhibits a subtle hammered-effect texture. The second vessel is a tall, slender cylindrical bud vase with similar black applied surface decoration of flowing lines and stylized foliage. An orange adhesive price sticker reading 412 is attached to the upper rim of the rectangular vase. No maker’s marks, signatures, or country-of-origin labels are visible on the exterior or bases of the vessels.
Condition report:
Both vases are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. The applied black decoration appears intact and well-adhered without significant wear or loss to the glass-paste surface. The glass remains clear and bright.
