Start price: £2

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of decorative ceramics, glass, and carved stone objects. The group includes two nested porcelain plates decorated in the Rose Medallion pattern, featuring a central medallion of peonies and butterflies surrounded by alternating panels of domestic scenes and floral sprays with birds, executed in overglaze famille rose enamels and gilding. The larger plate has a border of stylized flowers and butterflies within a Greek key-style rim. Also included is a pair of blue and white porcelain candlesticks with square bases decorated with floral and foliate motifs; a hexagonal spill vase with underglaze blue prunus branches on a blue-washed ground; and a section of a blue and white porcelain plate with a scroll and floral border. The assortment further contains a globular lidded jar with polychrome floral decoration, a ceramic figure with vibrant multi-coloured patterns, and a small cream-coloured bowl featuring a hand-painted yellow butterfly. Decorative items include a sphere carved from cream-coloured stone with intricate openwork floral lattice and a smaller ceramic sphere painted with pink cherry blossoms. A large cut-crystal vessel with diamond-cut patterns and a textured ceramic base with turquoise and brown glazes complete the group. There are two white rectangular adhesive labels on the Rose Medallion plate, one bearing the printed numbers 14 14. No manufacturer names, signatures, or reign marks are legible on the visible surfaces.

Condition report:

The Rose Medallion plates show visible wear to the gilt rims and light surface scratches to the enamel decoration. The blue and white candlesticks have substantial wax residue inside the nozzles. The lidded pottery jar appears to have fine crazing to the glaze. The openwork stone sphere appears intact. General surface dust and light wear consistent with display are present throughout the collection.
