Lot 322: A Group of Badminton Rackets and Associated Net Equipment
A badminton set consisting of three rackets, a net, and assembly poles, contained within a green woven nylon carrying bag. The rackets feature tubular metal frames with synthetic strings and include two with green-painted frames and one with a blue-painted frame. The blue racket is fitted with a black grip bearing a printed gold-tone mark reading Franklin. The net is constructed from black synthetic mesh with blue fabric edging and yellow cord ties. Two white-coated metal or plastic poles are included for net support. The carrying bag is finished with a black zip closure and black webbing handles.
Condition report:
The racket frames show surface wear and paint loss to the green and blue finishes, particularly around the head perimeters (photo 1). The strings appear intact, though tension is not tested. The black grip on the Franklin racket shows signs of use and compression (photo 1). The net is heavily tangled and will require sorting (photo 1). The white poles exhibit surface scuffing and minor discolouration (photo 1). The carrying bag shows fraying to the fabric at the seams and general surface soiling (photo 1). The set is incomplete, lacking shuttlecocks and containing an odd number of rackets.
