Buyer's Premium:

A collection of seven hardcover volumes focused on historical subjects. The group includes a five-volume set titled A History of England, published by The Folio Society, London. These volumes are bound in uniform blue publisher’s cloth with gilt-decorated spines and white printed title labels. The set comprises: Anglo-Saxon England by Peter Hunter Blair; Early Medieval England by M.T. Clanchy; England in the Later Middle Ages by M.H. Keen; England under the Tudors by G.R. Elton; and England under the Stuarts by G.M. Trevelyan. This set is housed in a matching blue cloth-covered slipcase. Each spine bears the series title A HISTORY OF ENGLAND in gilt, the specific title and author on the white label, and THE FOLIO SOCIETY at the foot.

Also included are two volumes by Barbara W. Tuchman: A Distant Mirror and The March of Folly. Both are bound in black publisher’s cloth with gilt lettering and a decorative fleur-de-lis or floral motif on the spines. The spine of the first volume reads A Distant Mirror Barbara W Tuchman and the second The March of Folly Barbara W Tuchman.

Condition report:

The collection appears to be in good condition. The blue Folio Society set shows some light dusting and minor marks to the top edges of the text blocks (photo 1). The white spine labels remain clear and legible with very minor shelf wear at the extremities. The blue slipcase shows light rubbing at the corners. The two Tuchman volumes in black cloth exhibit minor shelf lean and light wear to the head and tail of the spines. The gilt lettering on all volumes remains bright and well-defined.
