A cased set of silver-plated fish knives and forks, comprising six place settings housed in a fitted presentation box. Each piece features an angular Art Deco inspired terminal with moulded fluting along the stem and an embossed oval cartouche motif at the crest of the handle. The knives are formed with broad scimitar-shaped blades and the forks with four shaped flat tines. The fitted case features a black exterior with metal corner mounts and brass fasteners, opening to reveal a cream fabric-lined interior with black velvet retaining sections. No hallmarks or manufacturer marks are visible from the presented side.
Condition report:
Surface tarnishing and yellowish discolouration visible across the silver plate on several pieces, notably the blades and tines (photo 1). Light surface scuffing and fine scratching throughout, consistent with handling. One fork is dislodged from its fitted retaining strap (photo 1). The fitted case shows light interior marking to the cream fabric and edge rubbing to the exterior casing.
