Lot 30: A Cased Set of Silver-Plated Dessert Flatware with Bone Handles
A cased dessert flatware service comprising knives and four-tine forks, fitted in a wooden canteen lined with blue velvet. The pieces feature electroplated nickel silver blades and tines fitted with ribbed ferrules and smooth, cream-coloured bone handles. The knife blades are stamped with engraved-style lettering reading EPNS alongside a maker’s stamp reading GARRATT.
Condition report:
Visible surface tarnishing, spotting, and plate wear across the metal surfaces, particularly to the fork tines and knife blades (photo 1). The bone handles display natural variations and fine hairline drying lines consistent with age (photo 1). The fitted wooden canteen exhibits minor surface scuffs and edge rubbing (photo 1).
