A pair of framed monochrome photographic prints, possibly modern digital or silver gelatin reproductions, depicting historical scenes from the Lake District in England. The first print captures a winter scene with a large assembly of people on a road by a lake, featuring a handwritten inscription in gold-coloured cursive script at the lower right that reads Skating on Windermere 1929. The second print depicts a stone building with a small dark sign that bears the printed text S. NELSON GINGERBREAD BAKER, identifying the location as the Sarah Nelson Gingerbread Shop in Grasmere. Both images are mounted behind dark brown mats and housed in matching wooden frames with a dark finish and a gilt inner border. A small metallic circular hole or fitting is visible on the inner edge of the frame on the left. The items are shown partially contained within a white and brown cardboard shipping box. No further artist signatures or edition numbers are visible.
Condition report:
The prints appear to be in good condition with no visible foxing, staining, or silver mirroring. The frames show signs of minor wear, including small surface scratches and light chipping to the wood-effect finish along the lower edges (photo 1). The matting and glass appear intact.
