A collection of various glassware items comprising serving pieces and antique utility bottles. The primary piece is a clear cut crystal decanter featuring a bulbous body with a sharp, deep-cut diamond or cross-hatch pattern. It has a long neck with a flared, polished rim and is accompanied by a separate glass stopper with a faceted geometric knob. The lot includes a pear-shaped clear glass decanter decorated with wheel-engraved or etched depictions of a grapevine with leaves and fruit clusters, fitted with a silver-toned metal pouring spout. Also present are clear glass jugs, one featuring a small applied handle and a ringed neck. The collection further contains several green and aqua-coloured antique-style beverage bottles of various forms, including “black glass” style cylinders and mineral water bottles. One aqua glass bottle bears the embossed uppercase lettering WHARTON on its side. An orange adhesive label with the handwritten number 210 is visible on the neck of the cut crystal decanter, and a similar orange label with 210 is attached to one of the dark green bottles.
Condition report:
The glassware is in varied condition consistent with age. The primary cut crystal decanter and etched grapevine decanter appear to be free of major chips or cracks (photo 1). Several of the smaller clear glass vessels in the background exhibit significant internal cloudiness or mineral staining, often referred to as \'sick glass\' (photo 2). The antique beverage bottles show surface abrasions, manufacturing bubbles, and general wear consistent with excavated or vintage utility glass (photo 2). The fit of the faceted stopper to the crystal decanter should be verified for a ground-in seal.
