Lot 195: An Assortment of Irish and European Cut Lead Crystal Stemware
A collection of cut lead crystal glassware featuring various traditional mitre-cut patterns. The assortment includes several forms of stemware such as wine goblets, sherry glasses, and hock glasses. The decorative schemes primarily consist of deep geometric diamond and criss-cross cutting, with some pieces featuring fan and star motifs. The stems vary across the collection, including faceted, multi-sided, and simple cylindrical forms. One larger wine glass bears a small, rectangular silver-toned adhesive label reading MADE IN IRELAND. A rectangular orange adhesive label bearing the number 195 is affixed to the interior wall of the cardboard container.
Condition report:
The glassware generally appears in good condition with high clarity. One glass exhibits a notable chip to the foot rim (photo 1). Several pieces show minor surface abrasions and small nicks to the sharp edges of the cut patterns, consistent with age and use. No significant internal clouding or glass disease is visible.
