Lot 134: A British Made Duplex Oil Lamp and a Turned Wood Electric Table Lamp
This lot comprises two lamps including a traditional oil lamp and an electric table lamp. The oil lamp features a brown finished metal font and a brass burner assembly. The burner is fitted with two control knobs; the upper knob is embossed in a circular pattern with the text DUPLEX and BRITISH MADE. The burner is topped with a clear glass chimney. The second item is an electric table lamp constructed with a turned wooden base and a decorative brass-toned coiled wire element. This lamp is fitted with a clear glass chimney shade enclosing a modern electrical fitting and bulb. The electric lamp is wired with a white flex ending in a modern UK 3-pin plug.
Condition report:
The oil lamp exhibits surface scratching and wear to the brown finish on the metal reservoir, with some tarnishing and soot residue present on the brass burner components. The wooden base of the electric lamp shows minor surface wear and small scuffs consistent with use. Both glass chimneys appear to be intact with no visible chips or cracks, although both show a light layer of dust.
