A collection of seven pieces of cut lead crystal tableware, comprising one large serving bowl and six smaller bowls. The pieces are executed in clear glass with a heavy, thick-walled construction. The decorative scheme consists of a matching geometric pattern throughout the set. The base of each bowl is decorated with a multi-pointed sunburst or hobstar design. The exterior walls feature deep-cut facets in a honeycomb or diamond-quilted arrangement, which transitions into arched mitre cuts below the plain, rounded rims. The glass exhibits high clarity and the cutting is precise and deep, designed for high light refraction. No maker’s marks, acid-etched signatures, or manufacturer labels are visible on the glass.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. The glass across all seven pieces appears clear and bright without evidence of cloudiness or glass sickness (photo 1). The rims appear smooth and free from major chips or cracks. Due to the sharp, deep-cut nature of the geometric pattern, minor flea-bite chips to the apex of the cut facets may be present upon close physical handling, though none are prominent in the overview.
