Lot 561: A Pair of Contemporary White-Painted Three-Drawer Bedside Chests with Woven Rattan Insets
A pair of contemporary bedside chests featuring a clean white-painted finish. Each unit contains three stacked drawers of equal size. The drawer fronts are designed with recessed rectangular panels inset with white-painted woven wicker or rattan. The carcasses are constructed with square-edged tops and are supported by four short, square, slightly tapered block feet. Each drawer is fitted with a single centrally-placed circular metal pull knob with a dark aged finish. No maker’s marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces of the chests.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good used condition. There are minor surface scuffs and small chips to the white paint, particularly along the sharp edges and corners (photo 1). The top surfaces show some light marking and faint discoloration consistent with domestic use (photo 1).
