Lot 399: A Collection of Classical Music Compact Discs and Cassette Tapes including EMI Jean Sibelius Box Set
A collection of classical music recordings in mixed formats including compact discs and cassette tapes. The lot features a 4-CD box set titled Jean Sibelius: The Complete Symphonies performed by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Paavo Berglund, published by EMI. The set includes a card slipcase and bears the printed catalogue number HR 703862 and barcode 7 243570 386217. Also included is a release from the series In Classical Mood and a second Sibelius set in a white card box. Cassette media present includes pre-recorded titles Sonny plays your piano favorites Volume 1 and Famous Operetta Overtures, as well as a TDK IEC I/Type I cassette with a handwritten label reading Tchaikovsky. The collection is housed in a clear plastic storage container which bears an orange adhesive sticker reading 3.99.
Condition report:
The card packaging shows signs of shelf wear, including rubbing to the corners and scuffing to the edges of the EMI Sibelius slipcase (photo 1). The white cardboard box displays a small circular green sticker or residue on the spine (photo 1). The plastic jewel cases and cassette cases exhibit general surface scratching and light scuffs throughout (photo 1). The recording media is untried.
