This decorative wall plaque consists of a colour-splash graphic print applied to a rigid composite board support. The central subject is a vintage yellow taxi cab, characteristic of late 1930s or early 1940s American automotive design, positioned in front of a grand building entrance with a canopy. The background street scene and architectural elements are rendered in grayscale, providing a contrast to the taxi and the stylised cursive text, both of which are rendered in a golden-yellow hue. The text across the upper portion of the image reads Once upon a time in New York. The taxi features a roof-mounted light box inscribed with the word TAXI. The print includes an integral white border around the composition. A small orange adhesive label is affixed to the upper right corner bearing the handwritten number 238.
Condition report:
The plaque shows significant signs of wear and handling. There is extensive scuffing and material loss along all edges of the board, particularly at the corners where the underlying light-coloured composite material is exposed (visible in the photograph). Minor surface abrasions are visible across the printed area, and the corners show rounding and compression.
