Lot 607: A Collection of Vintage Costume Jewellery and a Musical Jewellery Box
A collection of vintage costume jewellery presented within a musical jewellery box. The box features a white-finished exterior with pierced floral designs and a red satin and velvet-lined interior. The interior lid is decorated with a gold-tone musical staff graphic, and the main compartment contains a tiered section and a small ballerina figurine. The jewellery collection includes a gold-tone brooch or pendant featuring a centrally set oval blue glass cabochon within a textured openwork frame accented by faux pearls. Also included is a wooden bead bracelet with painted figurative scenes and gold-tone earrings with white bead drops. Several small plastic bags containing textile ornaments and small gift boxes are also present. No hallmarks, signatures, or maker’s marks are visible on the box or the jewellery items.
Condition report:
The jewellery box shows surface wear, scuffing, and minor staining to the white exterior finish (photo 1). The internal triangular mirror has become detached from the lid lining (photo 1). The costume jewellery items exhibit general signs of wear consistent with age, including minor surface scratches and light tarnishing to the metal components.
