Lot 602: A Collection of Vintage Costume Jewellery and Accessories in a Three-Compartment Mirrored Box
An assortment of vintage costume jewellery and miscellaneous items presented in a rectangular storage box. The box features a cream-coloured textured faux-leather exterior and is divided into three compartments lined with red flocked material. The interior of the lid contains a rectangular mirror. The contents include multiple strands of beads, featuring faceted amber and pink glass, faux pearls, and iridescent plastic. A strand of large, spherical iridescent beads in shades of lavender and white is also present, alongside a white floral lace element. The lower compartment contains a gold-tone chain necklace with small red beads, a black circular object, and a circular embroidered textile patch. This yellow patch features red embroidered characters reading PERSONAL within a red border. A small gold-tone metal tag is attached to the chain in the bottom compartment, but the inscription is not legible. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the box or its contents.
Condition report:
The box shows surface scuffing and minor discoloration to the cream-coloured exterior finish (photo 1). The interior mirror displays foxing and silver loss, primarily around the perimeter (photo 1). The red flocked lining shows light surface wear and accumulated dust. The jewellery items are tangled but appear largely complete. The embroidered patch shows minor fraying at the edges (photo 1).
