A pair of table lamps featuring spirally fluted urn-shaped bodies carved from translucent cream-veined alabaster. Each lamp stands on a tiered square plinth base made from the same material. They are topped with cream-coloured pleated fabric drum-style shades, featuring darker vertical ribbon accents along the folds. The lamps are fitted with modern white electrical cords and standard UK three-pin plugs. An orange adhesive label is affixed to the top rim of the right-hand shade, bearing the handwritten number 571. No maker’s marks, signatures, or manufacturer labels are visible on the stone bases or electrical components.
Condition report:
The carved alabaster bases appear to be in good overall condition with no significant chips or cracks visible (photo 1). There is some minor surface dust throughout. One lampshade (left) appears slightly misaligned on its harp (photo 1). The shades show light signs of handling but no major staining; there is adhesive residue likely under the orange sticker on the right shade (photo 1). All electrical items are sold as untested and should be inspected and PAT-tested by a qualified electrician before use.
