Lot 563: Queen Anne Style Upholstered Wingback Armchair with Tapestry Pattern
A traditional wingback armchair designed in the Queen Anne revival style. The chair features a high back with side wings and outward-scrolled arms. The piece is fully upholstered in a woven tapestry-style fabric featuring a repeating pattern of foliate scrolls, floral motifs, and stylized tassels in a palette of cream, terracotta red, and olive green. The upholstery is finished with a continuous line of brass-headed nailhead trim along the seams. The chair includes a loose, square seat cushion. It is supported by two carved cabriole front legs and two plain, splayed back legs, all finished in a dark mahogany-toned stain. No maker’s marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the exterior surfaces shown in the images.
Condition report:
The upholstery appears in good overall condition with no visible tears, fraying, or significant staining (photo 1). The wooden legs show minor surface scuffs and light scratches consistent with domestic use (photo 1).
